Working closely with the editor and deputy editor as part of a small team, you’ll contribute to everything from writing compelling business stories to helping plan and deliver high-profile events. As content editor, you’ll also have the chance to develop your skills as a journalist in a future-facing publication where every member of the team is vital.

Insider runs a busy calendar of business networking events across the North West, and our editors play a central role in shaping them, from selecting speakers and judging awards to leading on-stage interviews. You’ll initially shadow the editor and deputy editor, gradually taking on more responsibility as your confidence and experience grow. We won’t throw you in at the deep end; we give careful thorough training. You’ll be supported with one-to-one training and mentoring to help you thrive.

We’re looking for a confident communicator who’s comfortable picking up the phone, walking into boardrooms, and building relationships with senior business leaders. An NCTJ qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, but not essential; above all, we’re looking for enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

  • Chairing high-level round table discussions with key business figures
  • Presenting live interview sessions at our flagship breakfast events
  • Representing Insider at regional business events

No two days are the same at Insider. From writing in-depth features and chairing thought-provoking round tables to attending prestigious awards dinners and collaborating with our sales and events teams, you'll be at the heart of our dynamic, fast-paced newsroom and business community.

Limitations of Authority:
  • This role has no authority to sign any documentation that would bring about a contract between Insider and a third party.
  • This role has no authority to authorise expenditure, and all expenditure apart from mileage to client meetings or events, hotel accommodation at events, etc., has to be authorised in advance in writing or via a purchase order.
  • This role has no authority to commit the company to any activity, i.e. event or feature that has not been approved in advance ideally in writing by the Editor.
