Job Purpose

Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Leeds office.

Salary: £95,000 - £115,000 + bonus.

As a Principal Architect & Developer – CRM / Power Platform, you will provide senior strategic leadership for the Fund’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Power Platform and Intelligent Automation estate, acting as the organisation’s principal authority for these platforms. You will shape the strategic direction, capability development and technical maturity of CRM, low-code solutions and AI-enabled automation across the Fund.

As Principal Architect & Engineering Lead, you will define and own the strategic roadmap for CRM, Power Platform and agentic AI, ensuring these platforms are secure, scalable and aligned with wider organisational technological goals. The role blends senior architectural leadership with meaningful hands-on engineering, enabling you to set technical direction while actively contributing to complex design and build activities.

You will lead a specialist engineering function, establishing platform-wide standards, overseeing solution architecture, and embedding modern engineering and governance practices. You will act as the Fund’s senior subject matter expert for CRM, Power Platform and automation technologies, partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure the platform estate supports transformation, operational efficiency and innovation.

This is a pivotal role in a greenfield and rapidly evolving environment, offering the opportunity to define best practice from inception, embed modern architectural and engineering patterns, and accelerate the Fund’s adoption of intelligent automation and AI-driven capabilities. The role requires a senior technology leader who can work autonomously, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and balance long-term strategy with hands-on delivery to drive meaningful organisational outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead a centralised Dynamics & Power Platform service/team, enhancing and developing the existing Dynamics 365 CRM solution while shaping and owning the strategic roadmap for CRM, Power Platform and Intelligent Automation to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with organisational technology goals.
  • Drive the maturation of the NWFs CRM, low-code capability and intelligent automation embedding best practice across architecture, engineering and governance.
  • Design and build on current Power apps as well as build new canvas apps and model driven apps within the Dataverse.
  • Own end-to-end workflow strategy, design, build, and integration across Microsoft services and 3rd-party systems.
  • Maintain a catalogue of automation assets and ensure alignment with architectural and documentation standards.
  • Act as SME escalation point for Dynamics, Power Apps, and automation-related decisions.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across the Fund to drive and support the optimisation of the Fund’s digital transformation through CRM Dynamics.
  • Provide technical assurance, code reviews, and best-practice guidance to developers and business teams.
  • Leverage agentic AI capabilities within CRM Dynamics to automate complex workflows, enhance decision-making, and deliver proactive, personalised insights that drive continuous improvement in customer and deal management processes.
  • Represent low-code, agentic AI and automation capabilities in design authority forums.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance automation and solution maturity.
  • Drive continuous improvement, re-use and automation to maximise platform value.

Essential Knowledge

  • Expert-level custom and low code development experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform which includes Dataverse, PCF Controls, Typescript or/and JavaScript, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Canvas Apps and Cloud flows (Power Automate).
  • Strong background translating business requirements into robust, process-driven technical solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to explain technical solutions in business terms.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide technical teams.
  • Experience building development plans, managing workloads, and working within structured change delivery frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support developers and business users.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
  • Ability to design scalable, strategic solutions aligned to organisational goals.
  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall deliveries, with demonstrable hands-on experience of participating and contributing to Agile ceremonies and Waterfall project meetings.

Desirable Knowledge

  • Microsoft Dynamics & Power Platform certifications.
  • Strong vendor/partner management experience.
  • Knowledge of financial services processes and regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of AI, automation, and emerging Microsoft technologies, with the ability to apply them practically.
