Job Purpose: The MI & Reporting Analyst supports Business Management (Investment & Advisory) by delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely management information, reporting, and dashboards that underpin decision-making across the Investment & Advisory function. The role has a strong hands-on focus on reporting delivery, with particular emphasis on advanced Power BI capability, data quality, and translating complex data into clear, accurate, and decision-ready outputs for senior review.

Operating context: The role is production-focused and operates primarily in Power BI, Excel, and data tools, with work prioritised through Business Management to ensure focus on agreed deliverables. Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Leeds office.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Management Information & Reporting: Produce recurring and ad-hoc MI for Business Management, including ExCo, Board, and Shareholder reporting. Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports, and underlying data models, in line with agreed standards. Prepare high-quality draft packs, tables, charts, and analytical views for senior review. Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, timely, consistent, and decision-focused.
  • Data Analysis & Quality: Extract, cleanse, reconcile, and validate data from multiple sources (e.g. CRM, portfolio, and pipeline systems). Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues, escalating risks or inconsistencies where appropriate. Support strong data quality, consistency, and auditability across reporting outputs. Maintain clear documentation of reporting logic, assumptions, and methodologies.
  • Support to Investment & Advisory Operations: Respond to structured analytical requests for Business Management, prioritised through agreed channels. Support performance tracking by producing metrics, trend analysis, and supporting commentary. Provide analytical support to operational improvement initiatives by producing baseline metrics and impact analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement of Reporting Capability: Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or improve reporting processes. Support the transition from manual reporting to scalable, repeatable MI solutions. Contribute to the evolution of reporting standards, templates, and best practice across Investment & Advisory.

This Role Exists To Ensure That:

  • Senior leaders spend time on judgement, priorities, and governance rather than building reports.
  • Business Management has robust, consistent, and scalable reporting capability.
  • Data and analysis are trusted, timely, and decision-ready.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge: Understanding of management information, performance reporting, and data analysis in complex organisations. Familiarity with financial, operational, or investment-related data environments is desirable. Awareness of governance, control, and audit requirements for executive-level reporting.
  • Skills: Advanced Power BI capability, including data modelling and DAX, with a strong focus on user experience and report design to produce intuitive, clear, and executive-grade outputs. Strong Excel and spreadsheet modelling capability. Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, accurate, and actionable reporting outputs. High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality. Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines within a structured reporting cadence, with flexibility to adapt to unforeseen requests. Clear written communication for analytical outputs and supporting notes.
  • Experience: Experience in an MI, reporting, or data analysis role with a strong hands-on delivery focus. Proven experience producing reporting or dashboards for senior stakeholders. Experience working with CRM, pipeline, or portfolio management systems. Experience operating in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
