Job Summary: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for managing and growing sales within a defined territory, focusing on both stock and residential new-build systems to the electrical wholesale trade: SY, LL, DE, SK, CW, WA, M, OL, L, PR, BB, LA and CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Territory Management & Growth: Strategically manage the defined territory to maximise the sales opportunities and achieve revenue goals. Develop and execute plans to grow sales of ventilation systems and electrical products within the electrical wholesale market. Drive consistent growth in the region by identifying new business opportunities and expanding the customer base.
- Sales Development: Sell high-quality stock products to electrical wholesalers, identifying opportunities to upsell, cross sell from competitors. Develop residential new-build system sales in partnership with electrical wholesalers by understanding project requirements and advising on suitable solutions. Build and maintain long-term relationships with wholesalers and developers to drive repeat business.
- Technical Expertise & Consultation: Advise customers on the technical specifications and practical installation of ventilation systems. Provide solutions to ventilation enquiries, ensuring compliance with the building regulations and customer confidence. Deliver product demonstrations and training sessions to wholesalers and their teams.
- Organisational Excellence: Regularly update forecasts and pipeline information, providing clear insights to senior management.
- Proven Sales Growth: Demonstrate a track record of developing a region by consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and technical support, to deliver seamless customer service. Collaborate with logistics and customer service teams to ensure smooth product delivery and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a sales role, within the manufacturing/wholesale channel. Demonstratable success in territory management and technical product sales. Have experience of site visits and must be able to present as technically credible. Have knowledge of or be able to learn the relevant building regulations quickly. Be able to read a technical drawing. Have experience working with both EWS branch managers and contractors. Good communication of ideas and able to have difficult conversations when problems arise.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with ventilation systems, electrical products, and their practical applications is preferable however training will be provided.
- Sales Acumen: Proven ability to grow revenue, secure new accounts, and expand existing relationships.
- Technical Skills: Ability to understand and explain technical specifications and installation requirements.
