Reporting to Design Team Supervisor
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm (40 hours)
Salary: £12.71ph negotiable depending on experience, 25 days annual leave, pension, Employee Assistance Programme (Health Assured).
National Ventilation is known for delivering innovative products and ventilation solutions to our customers with an emphasis on excellent customer service. We specialise in domestic new build ventilation systems including whole house heat recovery.
Job Role: As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Design Estimator to join our existing Design Team. This dual role involves creating detailed designs using bespoke software, and preparing accurate quotations based on these designs.
As a Design Estimator your duties will include:
- Design Development: Use bespoke software, AutoCAD and Revit, to create detailed technical designs according to specifications, current building regulations and requirements.
- Quotation Preparation: Analyse designs to create an accurate kit list of products needed for projects. Prepare and submit comprehensive quotations to clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our regional sales managers, our technical department, customers, and other team members to ensure design specifications are met.
- Revision and Modification: Modify and revise designs and quotations as required based on client feedback or changes in project scope.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of designs, estimates, and transactions. Ensure all documentation is compliant with industry standards and company policies.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify design and quotation details. Provide excellent customer service by addressing queries and concerns promptly.
Requirements: We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised individual who enjoys both technical and customer-focused work.
- Experience with design software, AutoCAD, Revit or other CAD software, is beneficial but not a requirement; training will be provided.
- Experience in preparing quotations and cost estimates for construction, engineering or related industry is beneficial but not a requirement; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of building regulations is beneficial but not a requirement; training will be provided.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in both design and financial estimations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interaction.
- Ability to manage personal workflow and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
- Willingness to learn.
