The Role A Level 3 Automotive Technician at the National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) Southampton Workshop typically operates within their Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC). Unlike a standard retail garage, this role focuses on high-volume, high-standard preparation and technical rectification of new vehicles (including brands like BYD, Maxus, and Omoda) before they reach dealerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Diagnostics & Rectification: Using computerised diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults, especially on vehicles that fail their initial Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
- PDI & Technical Campaigns: Carrying out comprehensive inspections, safety recalls, and manufacturer-led software or hardware
