Registered nurse/midwife qualified in 1st and 2nd trimester ultrasound scanning, based in the Midlands, working 38 hours per week (9.5 hours per day, 8am‑6pm, 4 days per week). Availability to work some weekends on a rotational basis. Provide safe and effective care for patients accessing consultation for unplanned pregnancies, surgical and medical abortions, contraception and sexual health services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support care delivery throughout all clinical services at NUPAS.
- Deliver safe and effective care from admission to discharge in accordance with local and national guidelines and NUPAS policy.
- Provide ultrasound scanning, contraception provision, and assist in surgical units.
- Adhere to clinical safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping.
- Engage in patient safety incident reporting and learning.
- Participate in clinical supervision, ongoing professional development, and safeguarding duties.
- Travel within the Midlands region and nationally as required.
Requirements / Experience
- Essential: Pro‑choice approach to reproductive and sexual healthcare.
- Nurse or Midwife registration with the NMC.
- Experience in 1st and 2nd trimester ultrasound scanning.
Qualifications
- Essential: Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Sub‑part 1) or Registered Midwife.
- Ultrasound scanning experience in first and second trimester.
- Desirable: Contraceptive qualification or experience fitting subdermal implants (letter of competence required).
- Professional nurse or midwifery advocate.
- Independent Non‑Medical/Supplementary Prescribing qualification.
Professional Development & Behaviour
- Engage in training delivery, induction of new staff, and support professional competency frameworks.
- Adhere to safeguarding, information governance, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.
- Maintain professional conduct and attend required supervision.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A submission for Disclosure will be required.
UK Registration
