The Management Accountant will primarily be responsible for the month-end process and reporting, and will provide financial management support for budget holders. The role involves costing and financial planning for NUPAS by working closely with internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for month-end process including posting journals to ledger, and preparing variance analysis for month-end position review after soft close.
- Prepare monthly regional finance reports and meet/discuss reports with budget holders.
- Support in costing, forecasting and financial planning.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager and Head of Finance for audit requests from external auditors.
- Provide financial management support to budget holders, raise financial awareness, and develop understanding of budget performance including drivers of variances.
- Champion value for money and support continuous improvement of efficiency across the organisation.
- Engage in continuous improvement of processes and provide cross-cover duties as required.
General Duties
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post.
- Work harmoniously with all team members, including regional groups, and communicate openly and courteously with colleagues, clients, visitors, referring agencies and contractors.
- To maintain and improve standards of work through training and ongoing development.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- CCAB finalist with target date of completion
- Continuing Professional Development
- Significant experience in month-end process and reporting
- Adequate experience in financial management with budget holders
- Adequate experience in costing and forecasting
Desirable:
- CCAB Qualified Accountant
- Experience in finance business partnering
- Experience in healthcare finance
Skills and Knowledge
Essential:
- Exceptional Excel and data analysis skills
- Confident ledger user
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance colleagues
- Ability to build effective, respectful working relationships and respond to feedback
