Job Summary
NUPAS is expanding and seeks a Receptionist/Administrator/Health Care Support Worker to deliver high quality patient care across Greater London. The role requires travel to all clinics, one Saturday a month at the Kilburn clinic, and supports the patient pathway throughout the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist colleagues during sensitive examination and treatment of patients, promoting dignity and comfort.
- Chaperone procedures and recognise when patient condition deteriorates, escalating as required.
- Maintain a caring, professional, and cooperative environment with patients and colleagues.
- Undertake pregnancy tests, record results, and support clinical testing.
- Stock and maintain clinical and administrative areas, order and receive stock, and ensure infection prevention policies are adhered to.
- Respect confidentiality of information on and off duty, and record appropriate documentation.
- Provide theatre support and identify and escalat safeguarding concerns to senior colleagues.
- Support cleaning, restocking, and medication handling training, including safe COSHH practices and hazardous waste disposal.
- Carry out health and safety policies and maintain effective infection control procedures.
- Deliver a patient‑centred reception and administration service, including processing case notes, liaising with clinical staff, coordinating treatment pathways, facilitating prescriptions and legal documents.
- Handle remote administrator duties, referrals to NHS hospitals, and cashiering.
Qualifications
- Essential: Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A‑C, NVQ2) in a health‑related subject or business administration, and ability to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of employment.
- Desirable: Care Certificate.
Person Specification
- Essential: Recent reception or general clerical work experience, recent healthcare assistant experience, ability to communicate clearly, understanding of the Data Protection Act, proficiency in Microsoft Office, positive attitude, and pro‑choice focus.
