Overview
Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH. Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement. Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Daily Operations
- Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers
- Process medication orders/prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient
- Picking, packing and labelling in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
- Perform billing functions
- Ensure work area is ready for daily operations
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and ward areas where drugs are stored
- Involvement in workplace quality improvement projects/activities as and when required
- Inventory Management
- Ensure stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) requirement and stipulated storage condition
- Perform topping up of omnicell ward stock in the respective wards
- Ensure correct receiving of goods
- Secondary repackaging/redressing
- Carry out cycle counts and stock takes periodically according to SOPs
- Dispensing
- Dispense medications to patients in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science
- Completed Basic Skill Test OR Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC)
- Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department
- Able to communicate effectively
- Able to function effectively as a member of a team
- Flexibility to work on weekends/public holidays occasionally
