As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

Salary: £12.75 per hour.

Contract: Permanent

Hours/working pattern: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, but your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You’ll work 1560 hours per year, and on average, you’ll work 30 hours per week. Weekend, bank holiday and school holiday work will be required, with team members typically working around half of all weekend days and most bank holidays. Clumber Park is in a remote area, please consider how you would get to work before applying for this role.

What it’s like to work here: Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll work as part of the wider Welcome team of around 30 at Clumber Park. Working within a positive team, we support each other in terms of wellbeing and progression. We’ll work with you to plan your development in a way that’s right for your needs.

What you’ll be doing: Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.

This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service. Some days, you’ll be based at the Information Point in the ‘core’ visitor area; answering visitor queries, facilitating mobility scooter bookings, and completing National Trust membership applications. Other days, you’ll carry out ‘Rover’ duties; this is a ‘mobile engagement’ role involving interacting with visitors who are parked in the wider parkland, outside of Clumber Park’s designated parking areas – primarily along the verges of Lime Tree Avenue. You’ll engage with visitors parked in these areas to communicate our conservation message, and update them on ongoing changes to parking and access.

You’ll provide mobile ‘welfare’ support to your fellow Welcome & Service Assistants who are positioned at our remote Welcome Points - facilitating comfort/lunch breaks throughout the day and operational support during busier spells. You’ll occasionally support in the delivery of events at times throughout the year, including some car-parking duties. Working within the wider portfolio team of staff and volunteers you’ll deliver outstanding visitor service. You’ll also support across the property/portfolio when required.
