Summary As a Ranger, you’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside in good shape, for wildlife and for people. You should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings, and be on call. What it’s like to work here Situated just 15 miles from London, Box Hill is a famed beauty spot in the North Downs. Box Hill has a thriving café, and an information point in the Shepherd’s Hut where National Trust memberships are sold. You’ll need your own transport to get here, however this is your chance to join a close-knit and small team in a truly idyllic location. Representing the Box Hill countryside team and working with our visitor operations and other ranger teams in the Surrey Hills to manage a high visitor site and protect our rare flora and fauna. You’ll support your fellow rangers in undertaking engagement and conservation work, contributing towards CS (Countryside Stewardship) targets.
