Overview

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to lead and innovate in employee relations?

Join our dynamic team at National Timber Group Scotland as a HR Business Partner and help to make us an employer of choice. This role is crucial for developing and delivering our employee strategy and ensuring the best outcomes for our employees and the organisation.

You will work alongside the senior management team to deliver the people plan for our divisional operation in Scotland. Providing proactive solutions to issues and leading the HR elements, you will drive the people agenda in support of our wider business goals.

Reporting to the Group Chief People Officer you will be an approachable and supportive individual with a talent for establishing relationships at all levels. You will be the face of HR in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Location: Grangemouth | Salary: £45 – £55k

Key Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner

In this role, some of your accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

  • Work with leadership teams to co-develop and implement people plans that align with the group strategy.
  • Drive engagement, assist in improving performance, talent, and leadership capabilities.
  • Be a confident and credible HR professional, effectively challenging, and coaching leaders.
  • Be a critical friend and trusted advisor, discuss, debate and challenge thinking when it comes to approaches to our people.
  • Work to apply consistency and fairness in all approaches to our people, whilst navigating policy and ever-changing business context.
  • Provide advice, options and highlight impact and risks on approaches leadership teams wish to take.
  • Act as the key contact for HR ensuring the right service levels are provided.
  • Handle and advise on all ER cases within your area of responsibility.
  • Using your coaching skills to work with line managers to ensure they have the appropriate training, knowledge, and competence to oversee people matters correctly.
  • Influence Key Decisions: Be an integral part of the People leadership team, shaping strategy and long-term planning.

Essential Qualifications for the HR Business Partner

You will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive HR Experience: Proven track record in HR management, ideally in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, coach, and inspire colleagues.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies.
  • Legal Knowledge: Up to date with legislative changes and best practices in HR.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with senior leaders and offering strategic insight, ability to guide and challenge executives as appropriate

As you will be visiting multiple sites across the group, regular travel will form part of your activity. You will require a valid and clean (or near clean) driving licence.
