We are looking for a New Work Production Assistant to join the National Theatre New Work Team.

We are recruiting a New Work Production Assistant to join the New Work team.

We’re looking for an individual with good all-round experience of working in a theatre or a similar arts venue.

You will work alongside another Production Assistant, and duties will range from administration, including processing of invoices and credit card returns, to production and technical related queries for workshops and artists working at the NT Studio.

The role also has an operational focus which includes leading on opening / closing the building and welcoming artists at the Studio reception.

This is a busy role that intersects with all areas of the New Work Department, as well as other National Theatre departments.

The successful candidate will have the following

  • Demonstratable experience in production, stage management and technical theatre and eager to develop skills in this area.

The post holder will be required to set up technical equipment independently for workshops, readings and explorative environments.

  • Experience of being a central point of welcome and support, delivering a personable, professional and adaptable welcome
  • An excellent collaborator, who works well as part of a team, with an ability to prioritise multiple tasks and effectively manage their time to meet deadlines.
  • Strong administration and IT skills with the ability to deliver work accurately and with great attention to detail, continually respecting confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong and confident verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate and work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and skills.
