We are looking for a Technical Assistant Stage Manager to join the National Theatre's Bacchae Schools Tour team on a 14 Week Fixed Term Contract. The Technical Assistant Stage Manager plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of Bacchae (school's version), bringing ambitious, high-quality theatre to life as it tours schools nationwide, helping to ignite young audiences' engagement with theatre.
Working closely with the stage management team, the role is central to delivering dynamic performances, ensuring all technical, staging and logistical elements run seamlessly in a wide range of spaces. This is an opportunity to be part of a fast‐paced, collaborative touring team, championing excellence, inclusivity and the transformative power of live theatre.
The successful candidates will have the following:
- Experience of touring theatre in a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience of, or a strong interest in, touring productions to schools.
- Strong all‐round technical background with particular knowledge of sound and lighting rigging and operating.
- Aware of current Health & Safety legislation including LOLER, risk assessment and working at height.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
