We are looking for a Data Migration Coordinator to join the National Theatre's Archive team on a 12 Month Fixed Term contract. This newly created role will assist with the replacement of the Archive’s collections management system and the associated data migration. The Data Migration Coordinator will undertake data reviewing, cleaning, and migration from the Archive’s current collections management system to a new solution.
This role involves working closely with the Archive team, the IT team, and third-party suppliers to support the exporting and importing of legacy data and the testing of the new system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. This role will support the Archive in continuing to ensure that its collections are well‑described and made more accessible to our different research communities. The postholder will also assist the Archivist and Digital Archives Manager with additional duties as required to support the wider activity of the National Theatre Archive.
The successful candidates will have the following:
- Confident with using complex software products, including familiarity with databases or archive/collections management systems.
- Proficient in data management, including demonstrable experience of manipulating large volumes of data and testing workflows for the migration of data or similar digital assets.
- Familiarity with standards in descriptive and technical metadata, e.g. Dublin Core, ISAD(G), and a high level of fluency with XML.
- Excellent organisational skills and experience of working within a team to deliver a complex, time‑limited project.
- Ability to use own initiative, showing a proactive approach to work.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills, with a high level of accuracy in English.
