National Theatre and JAS Theatricals are recruiting for a Tech Swing for Dear England on a Fixed Term Contract.
The country that gave the world football has since faced a pattern of loss. Why can’t England’s men win at their own game? The team has the worst track record for penalties in the world, and manager Gareth Southgate knows he needs to open his mind and face up to the years of hurt to lead the team and country back to success.
Writer James Graham (Punch, Nottingham Playhouse; Sherwood, BBC) updates his epic examination of nation and sport to reflect Gareth Southgate’s final chapter as England manager. Rupert Goold (Patriots, Cold War, Almeida Theatre) directs this acclaimed production. The National Theatre and JAS Theatricals are touring this Olivier Award-winning show across the UK, starting this autumn at Theatre Royal Plymouth, following successful runs in the Olivier Theatre and Lowry, Salford.
