We are looking for a IT Support Engineer to join the National Theatre IT Team.

As a member of the IT Helpdesk team, you will be responsible for supporting the vast range of technologies deployed across our multiple London based sites, whilst projecting a positive and welcoming attitude to our colleagues in need of support.

This role is a technology-based customer service role and requires building an excellent rapport with people around the building. The right candidate will need to be approachable, attentive and welcoming in addition to holding strong logical and technical troubleshooting skills. A day at work generally includes proactive management and triage of tickets raised through our Helpdesk platform, FreshService. It could also include the initial troubleshooting of computer systems and where necessary taking ownership over the escalation process to a 3rd party vendor or the Infrastructure team.As an IT Support Engineer, you could also have an opportunity to be involved in some project work - including large scale software deployments, processes, and improvements to the capabilities on new or existing systems.

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Demonstrable people skills with a naturally approachable and conversational manner including a sound understanding of customer service in a support function
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software (Windows 11 & Mac OS)
  • An understanding of Active Directory and what it is.
  • Previous experience of working collaboratively within a team
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and evidence of applying these in practice.
