On behalf of ONS, we are looking for HR Caseworkers for a 3-month contract working on a hybrid basis with an expectation of minimum 2 days attendance in the Newport office. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK's largest producer of official statistics, covering a range of key economic, social and demographic topics.
As an HR Caseworker specialising in Casework, you will be responsible for managing complex and sensitive cases across the organisation. You will handle a portfolio of employment relations cases such as grievances, discipline, attendance and performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing HR processes and delivering new and revised policies within specified timeframes.
- Leading and directing the back office team; advising and helping to progress disciplinaries, grievances, pay allowances, recruitment, performance and absence management.
- Supporting and coaching line managers and assisting in crisis resolution.
- Analysing and interpreting data to inform decision making and developing knowledge on HR policy and employment law.
- Acting as a subject matter expert, providing expert HR advice to managers on a range of people issues ensuring legal compliance, fairness and consistency.
- Enabling and empowering managers to navigate complex people issues through signposting to guidance/tools/resources and a coaching-style approach.

- ER Casework experience
- HR Experience
- Experience of coaching and guiding colleagues
Desirable Requirements:
- Public Sector Experience
- CIPD Level 3
