The predicted salary is between 18900 - 23100 £ per year.
We’re looking for additional Speech and Language Therapy Assistant support in our Hereford and Worcester based colleges with 11 hours a week in Hereford and 21 hours a week in Worcester, both term time only.
This can be one role covering both sites or split into two roles.
You will work alongside our experienced Speech and Language Therapists, supporting students to develop their skills so that they can express their opinions, make choices and communicate with family and friends.
We’re expecting you will have experience in working with people with a broad range of physical and learning disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Acquired Brain Injury.
It may be that you already have experience of providing direct and indirect speech and language therapy support.
A knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), Makaton and/or Intensive Interaction would help you to hit the ground running in this role.
It goes without saying that you will also have excellent observational and communications skills and a creative and flexible approach to work.
Multi-disciplinary working is key to the success of our college so being a team player is a must-have attribute as you will find yourself working alongside our occupational therapy, physiotherapy, education, nursing and residential teams.
Your creativity will come to the fore as you support the Speech and Language Therapy team in producing personalised resources to support students’ progression and achievement, including programming AAC devices.
