Are you an innovative and creative education professional inspired to use your skills to teach and guide young people with complex physical and learning disabilities and their families? We have a range of part/full time and temporary or permanent positions, all of which are term time only.
It will be your job to co-ordinate and be responsible for high quality and stimulating learning programmes for students with a range of physical and learning disabilities working towards their personalised EHCP outcomes. Learners are working from pre-entry to level 1 accreditation, with a focus on achievable and realistic learning targets across the curriculum and recognising progress through the RARPA framework.
Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college. A large part of your role will involve liaising with internal colleagues, external professionals and students’ families, as well as monitoring, recording and optimising the progress of learners.
Your previous teaching experience will ideally be in a Special Education Needs (SEN) environment working with people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities such as ASC and/or profound and multiple learning difficulties or severe learning difficulties. It also goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is creative, proactive and forward-thinking with excellent organisational skills.
The full time salary for a qualified teacher in this role will be between £32,505 and £39,017 depending on your experience – if you don’t yet hold your full qualification, we will adjust the salary to a lower rate accordingly – please contact us for more details.
We can consider applications from candidates already holding PGCE/Level 5 teaching Diploma or those with a good background in supporting learning in an SEN environment and ideally with a level 3 certificate in education who are willing to enrol in and complete a level 5 teaching qualification within 2 years.
