We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic team as a Senior Business Development Manager – Myopia Management for a leading global manufacturer of contact lenses.

You will be responsible and accountable for successful selling of the Myopia portfolio into optical retailers including Key Accounts in a defined territory. Supporting and working with Owners, Practice & Store Managers, Eye Care Practitioners (ECPs) and front of house colleagues in targeted customers, to establish the Myopia category and drive sales. Partnering with CV customer business teams, NAMs, KAMs, RSMs, Marketing & Professional Affairs to lead the development and implementation of customer specific myopia business plans.

Essential functions & responsibilities:

  1. Drive activation and adoption of myopia management product(s) within targeted accounts to deliver sales objectives and targeted sales call levels.
  2. Build, maintain strong partnerships with CV customer business teams to execute joint customer business plans for myopia category growth, working with customer Regional Managers to deliver MiSight activation.
  3. Work in close partnership with BDMs on target accounts to ensure a seamless and connected experience for the customers that is best in class.
  4. Build, maintain, and lead strong relationships with peers, other members of the sales team, sales leadership, strategic customers team, sales support and commercial management teams to gain support in executing customer objectives.
  5. Build a deep clinical knowledge of myopia management, including MiSight 1 day contact lenses and all other CV myopia management products as well as competitor products.
  6. Serve as the primary myopia contact for assigned customers at all levels as they implement myopia management into their practices to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  7. Interpret clinical studies and market data to add credibility, overcome objections, and influence the sales process convincingly.
  8. Demonstrate exceptional selling skills, business acumen, presentation, and communication skills to influence the customer journey and deliver success.
  9. Organize and deliver all regional and store-level Myopia and MiSight training programs, liaising with PA, internal and external contacts to drive adoption of MiSight & myopia management.
  10. Train and update regional sales teams on new initiatives, approaches, and information within the myopia management category and CV myopia management business.
  11. Customer Interaction:
    1. Demonstrate flexibility to specific customers\’ business models and needs, including chain and independent head offices and stores.
    2. Conduct in-depth business reviews with targeted customers to assess implementation strategies for myopia management.
    3. Develop specific action plans for each assigned customer based on CV myopia management using supporting tools to achieve growth.
    4. Lead local marketing plans and category initiatives with customers, resulting in documented success and positive ROI.
    5. Utilize the full portfolio of CV value-added services to gain and retain business.
    6. Deliver effective and engaging in-store training/coaching to motivate and change ECP fitting habits.
  12. Represent CV at seminars, exhibitions, and meetings as required.

What skills and experience should you have?

You should have expert-level customer relationship, business development, myopia management, contact lens category knowledge, product knowledge, sales, communication, and optometry skills to partner and coach customers and sales team members, driving MiSight sales and building customer adoption.

  • Enthusiastic, engaged, and supportive of all CVI initiatives
  • Able to grasp and communicate complex clinical concepts and data
  • Ability to manage a large geographical sales area
  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurial, tenacious, and resilient
  • Able to evaluate and synthesize information to make quality decisions
  • Capable of delivering training and presentations to various group sizes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce at intermediate to advanced levels
  • Full, clean driving license required
