Working together with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), our client is looking for a Safeguarding Manager to develop an effective Safeguarding culture across the provision of education centres. You’ll take the lead responsibility for all Safeguarding and child protection matters arising across the centres and supporting all other employees in dealing with any Safeguarding & child protection concerns that arise.

Role Overview

  • Lead and manage safeguarding and child protection across all education centres.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff on safeguarding concerns and procedures.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and external agencies, including local authorities.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an organisation-wide safeguarding strategy.
  • Attend local authority meetings to identify risks and report concerns.
  • Ensure safeguarding standards align with Ofsted and SEND Code of Practice.
  • Promote and implement safeguarding through staff CPD and training sessions.
  • Monitor safeguarding practices using e-systems like CPOMS and SharePoint.
  • Oversee all safeguarding referrals including those related to radicalisation and serious harm.
  • Ensure documentation is compliant for audits and inspections.
  • Liaise with internal teams, including HR and marketing, to ensure safeguarding is prioritised.
  • Ensure that all education centres have at least one trained Deputy DSL.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for safeguarding matters.

Operational Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor all safeguarding cases across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with quality and operational teams to improve safeguarding delivery.
  • Produce monthly safeguarding reports for senior leaders and the board.
  • Act as a safeguarding representative in multi-agency meetings.
  • Ensure information sharing aligns with data protection regulations.
  • Manage and use safeguarding software to track incidents and identify trends.
  • Maintain up-to-date safeguarding resources and guidance materials.
  • Deliver and coordinate safeguarding and Prevent training across all teams.
  • Ensure all staff understand safeguarding procedures, especially new joiners.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Recent Designated Safeguarding Lead training (within the last 2 years).
  • SENCO qualification and experience working with learners with SEND.
  • Relevant experience in safeguarding within post-16 education settings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding platforms and legal referral processes.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across multiple sites.
