About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Gym Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operation of their gym, support fitness, and promote sport and wellbeing across the local community. You will supervise the gym, lead fitness activities, maintain health and safety standards, and ensure all users enjoy a safe and welcoming environment. This is a term-time role with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise gym users, enforce rules, and provide inductions.
- Lead exercise classes and support sports activities for students, staff, and the community.
- Set up, dismantle, and maintain gym and sporting equipment safely.
- Maintain health and safety, including daily checks and reporting maintenance needs.
- Promote sport and fitness through events, promotions, and communications.
- Support safeguarding and equality.
- Administer payments and liaise with user groups to meet their needs.
About You
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant field.
- First Aid certificate (up-to-date).
- Experience in a health and fitness environment, including supervising and running exercise classes.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and cash handling.
- Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
- Enhanced DBS clearance required and re-checked every 4 years.
- Willingness to undertake First Aid and other relevant training.
Desirable
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification and group exercise qualifications.
- Experience running sports leagues or outdoor activities.
- Full clean driving licence (minibus experience a plus).
- Level 3 Personal Trainer, assessor, or verifier qualifications.
