Job Title: Head of Finance Location: Home based Job Purpose As our client's Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead the finance function, oversee financial planning and reporting, and ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and commercially focused finance leader to join a growing organisation and make a significant impact by driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting long-term business growth. Main Duties and Responsibilities Financial Strategy and Leadership * Develop and implement a robust financial strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives and growth plans. * Provide strategic financial advice to the senior leadership team, supporting effective decision-making. * Prepare and present accurate management accounts, financial reports and analysis to the Senior Leadership Team and Board. * Provide insight into financial performance, risks and opportunities to support organisational success. Financial Planning and Budgeting * Lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. * Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts and key performance indicators. * Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency, optimise costs and enhance business performance. * Support effective cash flow management and long-term financial planning. Financial Governance, Compliance and Audit * Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, statutory requirements and internal policies. * Maintain effective financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks. * Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee annual audit processes. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial legislation, accounting standards and best practice. Team Leadership * Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement. * Oversee team performance, development and operational effectiveness. * Promote collaboration across departments to support wider organisational objectives. Commercial Support and Business Growth * Support strategic projects, business growth initiatives and operational improvements. * Evaluate investment opportunities through financial modelling, analysis and risk assessment. * Provide commercial insight to support growth, diversification and strategic decision-making. Qualifications and/or Experience Required Essential Experience * Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, such as Head of Finance, Finance Director or equivalent. * Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent). * Strong experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. * Experience managing audits, financial governance and regulatory compliance. * Demonstrable experience leading and developing finance teams. Desirable * Experience within a regulated industry or complex organisational environment. * Experience supporting business growth, transformation or operational change. * Experience implementing or improving financial systems and processes.
