Purpose of the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across vocational qualifications. You will monitor, review, and support assessors and trainers, ensuring ongoing compliance with awarding bodies and regulatory requirements. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining high standards and promoting continuous quality improvement throughout the organisation. Key Responsibilities * Monitor and evaluate tutor/assessor performance to ensure high-quality delivery and assessment. * Identify development needs and facilitate professional growth for tutors/assessors. * Conduct sampling of learner portfolios to verify assessment decisions and ensure they are fair, valid, and reliable. * Ensure assessment and IQA documentation meet the standards required by awarding organisations and regulatory bodies. * Support the standardisation of assessment practices and participate in standardisation activities. * Provide constructive feedback, guidance and support to assessors to improve assessment practices. * Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies, including Ofqual, ESFA, and Ofsted. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including sampling plans, IQA reports, and monitoring documentation. * Monitor learner progress and support timely achievement of qualifications. * Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity in all aspects of assessment and quality assurance. * Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of schemes of work and assessment strategies. * Participate in and support external quality assurance (EQA) visits and follow through on any required actions or recommendations. * Proactively identify risks and implement actions to support continuous improvement. * Follow procedures for managing concerns regarding assessment or delivery quality. * Share best practice and contribute to the development of colleagues. * Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements. * Attend staff meetings, standardisation sessions, and undertake any other duties appropriate to the role. Essential Qualifications * Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent). * Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent. * Relevant occupational qualification(s) and sector experience. * GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above. Desirable Qualifications * Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, or higher). * Sector-specific qualifications (e.g., Management, Construction, Quantity Surveying, NVQ Level 3+). Experience * Demonstrable experience working as an Internal Quality Assurer in a vocational training or educational setting. * Experience of preparing for and supporting EQA visits. * Experience of supporting, developing and quality assuring assessors and trainers. * Proficiency in using e-portfolio systems (e.g., BUD or similar platforms)
