Location: Full Sutton

Responsibilities

  • Induct prisoners into workshop routines, health and safety, tool use, and production processes.
  • Lead, support, and motivate prisoners, managing productivity, behaviour, and development.
  • Set and monitor daily production targets and quality standards to meet operational requirements.
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain strict control of tools and materials in line with security procedures.
  • Embed employability skills such as teamwork, time management, quality awareness, and accountability into daily work.
  • Support the delivery and assessment of relevant vocational qualifications where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and production output.
  • Provide reports to support sentence planning and security requirements.
  • Work closely with prison staff and other stakeholders to ensure workshop activities run smoothly.

Qualifications

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in textiles and manufacturing. Previous experience in the textiles industry is desirable, but not essential β€” full training will be provided for candidates who bring the right attitude, transferable skills, and enthusiasm for hands-on production work. Experience in training, coaching, or assessing others is desirable but not required.
