Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Trainer/Assessor – Plumbing and Gas to join their Work-Based Learning (WBL) team. As the Trainer/Assessor – Plumbing and Gas, you will support apprentices in Plumbing and Gas, delivering high-quality coaching, mentoring, and assessment to help learners achieve their apprenticeship standards. You will also build strong relationships with employers, ensuring learners gain the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed for career success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of learners, providing mentoring, coaching, and assessment.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions both on College and employer premises.
  • Support apprentices through their End Point Assessment (EPA) and ensure timely progress.
  • Develop and maintain learner portfolios and records using College systems (Smart Assessor, VLE).
  • Liaise with employers to create meaningful learning opportunities and provide progress feedback.
  • Conduct reviews, assessments, and support Functional Skills development where required.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, equality & diversity, and College policies.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and maintain professional standards.

Trainer Assessor 1 Requirements:

  • Level 3 TAQA (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Ability to mentor and support trainee assessors.

Trainer Assessor 2 Requirements:

  • Experience in IQA processes, standardisation, and mentoring other assessors.
  • Participation in external quality assurance visits and contribution to improving assessment practices.
