About the Role:
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Health and Social Care Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and support learners across a range of programmes. The Health and Social Care Lecturer will play a key role in course delivery, learner progression, programme development, and the wider growth of the curriculum area. Teaching may include evenings, Saturdays, and summer periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver inspirational teaching, learning, and assessment in Health and Social Care
- Prepare schemes of work and assessment in line with awarding body requirements
- Maintain high-quality learning materials on the VLE and online platforms
- Act as a personal tutor, tracking learner progress and supporting achievement
- Provide timely feedback to learners, parents/guardians, and employers
- Support work placement elements of programmes
- Lead and contribute to programme development, reviews, and quality assurance
- Assist with student recruitment, admissions, and promotional events
- Liaise with awarding bodies and external partners
- Maintain up-to-date professional and industry knowledge
- Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, and health & safety across all activities
What They Are Looking For:
Essential:
- Teaching or training-related qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Relevant Health and Social Care or Health Science qualification (minimum Level 3)
- Maths and English at Level 2 or above
- Recent and relevant industry experience
- Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity
Desirable:
- FE teaching experience
- Assessor qualification
- Knowledge of current Health and Social Care legislation and policy
- First Aid or Health & Safety training
