The Business Development Executive will utilise the local employer market to start and develop tech and digital careers for people in the region.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong employer opportunities pipeline, converting prospects into apprenticeship vacancies, and ensuring apprenticeship opportunities match employer needs and learner aspirations.

Please note: This role involves field-based work (attending networking events and employer meetings), so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Core Responsibilities:

* Attend networking events to generate leads and build relationships with employers.

* Demonstrate the apprenticeship value proposition and secure commitments from employers.

* Identify and engage new employer clients to promote apprenticeship programmes.

* Achieve monthly apprenticeship placement targets.

* Generate new business via telephone, marketing, LinkedIn, email, and face-to-face engagement.

* Arrange apprenticeship interviews with employers and learners, collaborating with candidate engagement Resourcers.

* Maintain accurate sales plans and pipelines.

* Provide information and guidance to employers on apprenticeship funding and compliance.

* Approach employers proactively with talent pool candidates to create new opportunities.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and candidates.

* Ensure high-quality candidate placements, supporting both employers and learners.

* Deliver presentations of apprenticeship services online and in public.

* Ensure accurate completion of all required documentation and processes.

* Comply with all funding rules, organisational policies, ISO9001, and Cyber Essentials.

* Carry out any other duties as directed by the line manager or Director.

Ideal Candidate:

* Experience building relationships with local businesses.

* Background in apprenticeships, recruitment, or B2B sales.

* Track record of converting prospects into sign-ups.

* Experience attending and networking at business events.

* Passionate about connecting with employers, stakeholders, and learners.

* Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

* Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, CRM systems).

* Adaptable to changing legislation and able to multi-task across systems.

* Able to live and work by the organisation’s values.
