Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Health and social care IQA to take responsibility for an area of learning, ensuring high-quality teaching, strong learner outcomes, and success rate targets are achieved. The Health and social care IQA will provide incisive contract and performance management, develop outstanding delivery models for new standards, and lead the development and standardisation of Learning & Development Tutors. All delivery must meet exceptional (Ofsted) standards and embed effective off-the-job learning.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching, Learning & Quality

  • The Health and social care IQA will lead contract and performance management to control learner profiles, success rates, and off-the-job impact.
  • Analyse learner data (progress, attendance, behaviour) to ensure timely intervention and effective use of Individual Support Plans and initial assessments.
  • Develop staff to achieve outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Ensure all delivery models, resources and learner surveys are completed, accessible, quality assured, and used consistently across the organisation.
  • Lead EPA preparation and standardisation within your area of learning.
  • Ensure all aspects of delivery meet exceptional Ofsted standards.

Learner Engagement & Retention

  • Personally contact potential early leavers to identify root causes and drive improvements in enrolment, IAG and teaching quality.
  • Ensure learner voice is captured monthly and acted upon.

Business Growth & Partnerships

  • Support achievement of start targets through active involvement in business development.
  • Generate referrals for commercial work and cross-sector opportunities.
  • Deliver provision in non-traditional settings (e.g. schools) to expand organisational footprint.

Staff Development & Standardisation

  • Ensure all staff complete regular CPD, maintain records and impact logs.
  • Lead development following observations requiring improvement and when new standards/qualifications are introduced.
  • Ensure staff are fully standardised where you lead delivery.
  • Deliver training on quality assurance where performance is below outstanding.

Essential Requirements

  • GCSE A–C (or equivalent) in Maths & English
  • Level 2 Functional Skills
  • TAQA (or equivalent) and IQA Award
  • Occupational competence
  • Strong IT, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working to targets
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to live and work in the UK without restriction

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA
  • Teaching qualification
  • Management qualification

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality & inclusion, and health & safety
  • Enhanced DBS check required
