Home based with travel to learners around Derby and surrounding areas. ROLE PURPOSE Our client is looking for an Apprenticeship Skills Coach to support the existing portfolio of apprenticeships, including, Customer Service Specialist, Customer Service Practitioner, HR Support, Operations or Departmental Manager, Team Leader or Supervisor, and Business Administrator, plus other apprenticeships in recruitment coaching, learning and development and marketing. There may be opportunity to develop into delivering higher level apprenticeships, subject to demand. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Onboard apprentices, completing mandatory paperwork and internal quality documents as appropriate Implement the delivery plan, maintaining a high standard of teaching and support Provide developmental feedback to apprentices on possible improvements Ensure learning sessions are planned and delivered to help develop the English and mathematical skills of apprentices and embed their understanding of British values Ensure employers and apprentices have an accurate view of the programme and its delivery arrangements, and that apprentices are appropriately safeguarded Monitor apprentice’s progress at work, identifying skills gaps and facilitating development opportunities Conduct regular reviews with apprentices and their line managers both in person, in the workplace and on-line or by telephone, building productive relationships with both apprentice and employer and identifying any emerging issues at an early stage Setting SMART targets and action plans Carrying out quarterly reviews for each candidate Monitoring implementation of the learner commitment statement including the employer’s commitment to providing time for off-the-job activity Liaising with the line-manager and others in the employing organisation to support the implementation of knowledge in the workplace and development of skills and behaviours Recording progress and achievement Provide individualized guidance enabling candidates to build a showcase portfolio of knowledge, skills, and behaviours and help prepare apprentices for gateway and end-point assessment Use data to benchmark progress and achievement of both apprentices and cohorts of apprentices and identify and act on trends as appropriate Maintain a good level of knowledge of current industry practice ROLE REQUIREMENTS GCSEs at grade A*-C (new grades 4-9) in English and maths, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications Teaching qualification at Level 3 (i.e., AET/PTLLS) or higher Assessor (CAVA) and/or IQA awards Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle Previous experience of delivering engaging and meaningful learning activities and training workshops Experience of delivering Functional Skills in maths and English up to Level 2 Ability to deliver high quality training sessions to meet Ofsted standards and exceptional learner engagement (this will be assessed through a microteach during interview process) BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES CORE: Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload Ability to work in a team and remotely and influence positive delivery methods within the team Experience of creating resources and curriculum development for delivery Knowledge of Ofsted regulatory framework and quality and compliance measures Paul Feldman is the National Skills Agency Data Protection Officer.
