Main Purpose & Scope Of Job: Ensuring that all NRLA content and products are compliant with housing law affecting England and Wales.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Work: Build relationships with different departments to identify projects, assess risks, provide guidance on compliance, and manage projects related to upcoming legislation.
  • Resources Activity: Work with the Head of Compliance to keep guidance up to date, horizon scan for new requirements, update template documents, and collaborate with the comms team to produce video guides and infographics.
  • Project Management Responsibilities: Support team members, provide training, attend meetings on behalf of the NRLA, and complete monthly reports on activities and project status.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent academic qualification in law.
  • Skills & Abilities: Good verbal and written communication skills, confident in teamwork, excellent organisational and project management skills, and ability to produce written content under tight deadlines.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a housing-related compliance role and interest in law and legal research.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and housing law related to renting, as well as understanding legislation development.
  • Personal Attributes: Capable of working from home with occasional travel to events and conferences.
