Location

The role requires travel to our central Manchester office at least one day per week.

Main Purpose & Scope Of Job

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with proficiency in Xero and Sage. Experience in Iplicit would be advantageous to manage our day-to-day financial transactions and records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records across the NRLA group using Xero and Iplicit accounting software.
  • Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner on Xero, Iplicit and Sage.
  • Support with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
  • Manage the Accounts mailbox for NRLA, Safe2 and LPTE ensuring timely turnaround on sales invoice requests and purchase invoice approvals.
  • Support the finance team with the preparation and timed requests for the Safe2 year-end audit.
  • Responsibility for the sales invoicing and allocation of projects for Safe2.
  • Credit control responsibility for the NRLA group.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
  • Accounts/Bookkeeping experience is essential.

Required

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, ideally in a similar role.
  • Hands‑on experience with Iplicit accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work across multiple CRM systems.

Experience

  • Must have worked in an accounting position using either Xero or Sage.
  • Having worked for a membership organisation.
  • Have used Iplicit accounting system.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Xero and Sage accounting software.
  • Experience on Iplicit would be advantageous, but essential.

Personal Attributes and other requirements

  • Willing to commute to the office on request.
  • Be a good team worker, demonstrating accuracy and commitment to the organisation and team members.
