The predicted salary is between 28800 - 42000 £ per year.

This important role supports the development and delivery of the International Programme as it realises its ambitions for growth. The International Programme has expanded in the last few years and the scale of the ambition continues to increase. The Gallery has its largest ever portfolio of exhibitions to promote and deliver in the coming years and this role is critical to ensuring this opportunity is realised.

Key Accountabilities:

Marketing

  • Promoting the Gallery’s exhibition programme to potential international partners.
  • Travelling to conferences etc. to meet and network with potential international partners.
  • Hosting and meeting with visiting representatives of other museums to develop the Gallery’s international relationships.
  • Preparing marketing documents and presentations to promote the international touring exhibitions and other ventures to potential partners in close collaboration with the relevant curator and Exhibition Managers.

Relationship Management:

  • To support the Head of International Programmes in the management of the Gallery's international relationships with exhibition partners.
  • Managing and negotiating any relationships with external stakeholders involved in the exhibition including but not limited to exhibition venues; external curators; artists; other international partners/stakeholders.
  • Negotiating contracts for tour venues and other international ventures.
  • Working positively with internal stakeholders to deliver projects, in particular, working very closely with Exhibition Managers.
  • Promoting sustainable working practices and reducing the environmental impact of the Gallery’s operations in line with its Sustainability Statement

Specific Projects:

  • The postholder may be responsible for a number of specific projects, as required by the Head of International Programmes.
  • The postholder will be expected to demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience in relation to these aspects of the role.

Key Experience, Skills and Criteria:

  • Proven experience of marketing/sales
  • Relationship management experience
  • Experience of negotiating partnerships/contracts
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues within the Programmes and Partnerships department and across the Gallery.
  • Demonstrates passion and approaches all work in an enthusiastic way.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and authoritatively, orally and in writing, with external stakeholders as the Gallery’s representative as well as with colleagues across the Gallery
  • Affinity with the Gallery’s collection/history of art
  • Strong marketing and sales skills, with experience of income generation
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Considerate and collaborative team player with high level of self-motivation
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail, methodical, with a creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong IT skills and a high level of competence in Microsoft Office, databases and Windows based PC systems
