About You

The role requires either good science A Levels or equivalent vocational qualifications, and preferably higher educational qualifications or laboratory experience.

For the role at the Scientist level, a physics degree / equivalent qualifications or directly relevant laboratory experience is required. Strong practical, numerical and team working skills are essential.

You will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and development of national standards for the measurement temperature and you will use these facilities to deliver customer calibration services at the highest quality.

You will combine calibration work with laboratory support duties such as managing an inventory of equipment.

NPL has leading capabilities to calibrate thermometers between approximately -196 °C and 3000 °C as well as expertise and novel techniques for solving real-world temperature and humidity measurement problems.
