This role is a 12-month fixed term contract role and you must be able to commute to NPL in Teddington twice per week. As a People Adviser at NPL, you will be part of the team that is at the forefront of delivering great colleague experience enabling them to help us deliver our vision and mission.

As we continue to grow, you will:

  • Establish a route for colleagues to feel supported with their employee relations queries offering procedure guidance, signposting and support where needed.
  • Work closely with the People Adviser team to enhance a wider understanding of early intervention and informal resolution opportunities.
  • Be the champion of our well-being offering from ensuring colleagues have access to a wealth of support to scanning the horizon for best practice.
  • Support with continuous improvement of our people procedures, using your knowledge of legislation and proven effective people practice ensuring they are fit for purpose and right for our population.
  • Take on a portfolio of projects of varying complexity to provide the right tools, data and guidance to improve the colleague experience.

In everything you do, we expect you to ensure all interactions with our people are fair, in line with agreed processes and legally compliant across all interactions. No two days will be the same: you will be liaising with our colleagues to deliver on People projects. Ultimately, you will support the kind of positive experience that retains the best.

First and foremost, you should have a passion for enhancing colleague experience, together with a strong knowledge and proven experience in helping to resolve employee relations matters. You will have sound judgment to assess risk and ensure the right path for the issue at hand, working closely with the team. In addition, you will be:

  • A great communicator with the ability to listen, break down complexity, plan and deliver effective pathways.
  • Comfortable working independently in managing and prioritising a diverse portfolio and delivering results and solutions, knowing how to find a path forward when solutions aren’t clear.
  • Tech savvy and have confidence with systems and data; experience creating and editing content with MS SharePoint and Power BI or equivalents are a bonus.
  • Aligned with our values in your approach to customers, stakeholders, your team and colleagues and the quality of what you will deliver in your role.
