Put simply, we set the standards by which everything is measured. In doing so, the National Physical Laboratory is helping to combat issues on a global scale such as climate change, curing diseases and the development of cutting‑edge communications technology. At NPL, we touch ordinary lives in extraordinary ways and you could too. We are seeking to recruit a calibration technician to support our electrical and RF / Microwave measurement services. Your principal role would be as part of the team calibrating instruments used within the safety and communication industries. You would also have the opportunity to work as part of a wider team developing NPL’s own facilities to meet new and challenging requirements from our customers.

Please note, this role would be known internally as ‘Assistant Scientist or Scientist’. As we are recruiting across different levels, we will consider applications from candidates with varied experience. Offer and salary will depend on experience.

This technician / junior scientist role is suitable for a recent school or college leaver or career break returner with a passion for science and engineering. While a knowledge of science is desirable, full training, support and staff development will be provided. This role would be lab based on‑site in Teddington.
