Our world‑leading Time & Frequency department seeks a Communications Specialist with experience delivering internal communications for complex major programmes. You will be joining our team at an exciting time – we maintain the UK’s National Time Scale, UTC (NPL), and are developing a new resilient Time Scale facility that will underpin UK Digital Infrastructure. This will address risks associated with our dependency on global navigation satellite systems (such as GPS) that are vulnerable to natural and intentional interference.

Collaboration with prominent scientists, engineers and specialists in physical and cyber security will involve designing and implementing a high‑quality suite of communication plans and activities to support behavioural change, on time, quality, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co‑coordinate with colleagues across the Programme to gather communications content in line with the communications plans and programme strategy
  • Work closely with the Communications Manager to manage the change network
  • Develop high‑quality internal programme communications; maintaining brand, style and voice
  • Monitor the success of communications and suggest improvements where needed
  • Support the maintenance of the critical stakeholder engagement analysis
About YouEssential:
  • Proven and recent experience delivering communications within complex programmes to support transformational behavioural change
  • Experience in closely managing communications plans – from ideation through completion
  • Experience in creating and managing a comprehensive change network to support complex behavioural change
  • Excellent stakeholder analysis, management and engagement skills
  • A degree (or equivalent experience / professional qualifications) in Business Change Management, Organisational Change Management, or Strategic Communications Management
Highly Desirable
  • Prior experience within a business change consultancy
  • Exposure to a variety of business change methodologies (such as ADKAR, McKinsey 7S model, Kotter’s, Kubler‑Ross, etc.)
  • Experience utilising communications to implement security‑related behavioural changes in diverse organisations
  • Experience of utilising a variety of communications channels to engage complex audiences
