About the Role
Measurement Technician Apprentice – 3 year fixed term contract. Join our Manufacturing Metrology group based in the 3M BIC building in Huddersfield. The focus will be on dimensional metrology, with opportunities to work across in‑process measurements, sensors, computer tomography and dimensional metrology.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend training sessions and block learning weeks to expand technical skillset.
- Work on projects within the Manufacturing Metrology Group.
- Contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions and project discussions.
- Participate in NPL Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) outreach activities.

About You
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs, grades 4/C or above (or predicted), including Maths, English and a Science subject.
- AS or A‑level is an advantage but not essential.
- A practical mindset and a genuine curiosity about how things are designed, built and function.
- A commitment to professionalism in the workplace.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and develop positive working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn to produce accurate, high‑quality work.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Live within a commutable distance to Huddersfield or be willing to relocate (the role is based on site 5 days a week).
