As our Communications Specialist, you’ll help manage our corporate communications, including content for digital channels, so that we engage with different audiences, strengthening our reputation with customers and the general public.

About You
A content and communications expert, you ideally have experience of working on corporate communications. Highly organised, creative, and with an eye for detail, you understand audiences and know how to produce materials that engage with those audiences. - Create content and communications material that raise the profile of NPL to stakeholders, including other NMIs, peers, collaborators, students, industry, policymakers and influencers.
- Deliver against a planned content and communications strategy, presenting information to different audiences in a thoughtful, clear and engaging way.
- Be an integral part in enhancing our brand and programmes, working on communications projects that increase brand awareness and our presence in the external marketplace.
- Contribute multi-channel content that aligns with our content strategy, raises our profile and showcases our science and services.
- Be proficient at managing multiple content projects at the same time, planning effectively and highlighting any risks to content being delivered on time.
- Work with the Communications Manager to maintain the social media and content calendars and deliver content against campaign deadlines.
- Be adept at creating and/or editing content for different channels and stages of the marketing funnel, including thought leadership, news, social media posts, infographics and case studies.
- Write engaging content for different audiences, including scientists, different industries and the general public.
- Copy edit content efficiently, to deadline and to a high standard.
- Build a network of contacts across key areas of NPL and externally that will help you to fulfil your role effectively.
- Manage relevant stakeholder engagement schemes and programmes to support the exchange of knowledge and expertise between NPL and stakeholder organisations.
- Be confident working with subject matter experts and senior stakeholders to obtain the information you need to generate or manage different content.
- Ensure our brand, tone of voice and style guide are adhered to.
- Be proficient in the use of content and collaboration tools/apps, and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent).
- Responsible for taking reasonable duty of care for Health & Safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and always follow direct instructions given with regards to Health & Safety.
