The role involves working with the Senior IP Pharmacist to support NPA services users delivering pharmacy services that include prescribing and their pharmacist independent prescribers. This includes:
- Provision of expert advice, support, training, events, resources, clinical governance, and clinical supervision support.
- Leading the development of high‑quality content and resources for members to support them with clinical advice and support, risk management, governance, patient safety, and assurance in relation to prescribing services.
- Contributing to the wider PAS service and NPA’s patient safety work, supporting Member enquiries and internal workstreams.
Key facts:
- Hybrid‑working pattern: Home working blended with at least 1 day per week working at the NPA’S Head Office, just outside of London.
- Availability: As soon as possible.
Your key attributes:
- Excellent and up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of independent prescribing practice, clinical governance experience, relevant legislation and regulation including patient safety in this context, NHS processes and services relating to independent prescribing, maintained through regular CPD.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary or integrated care settings/as a DPP/providing clinical supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, teamworking, demonstrable leadership skills, ability to self‑manage workload and timely delivery of work and projects.
- Demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive behaviours in practice.
- Using digital tools for communication or content creation.
- Experience in mentoring, team coordination, or project work.
- Participation in audit, research, or quality improvement.
