About the role

This role involves working with NOC’s Directors and Senior Managers to capture and manage risks and to support the business in pursuing its strategic objectives. It offers exposure to a wide range of risk and compliance topics and provides opportunities to develop risk management skills in a dynamic, varied environment.

The role includes supporting the Compliance, Risk and Information Governance Manager in developing, managing and implementing NOC’s Information Governance framework and helping to ensure NOC meets its Data Protection obligations. It also involves helping to ensure NOC complies with procedures for insuring research integrity and security as NOC interacts with institutions and individuals overseas, and contributing to the development and delivery of NOC’s risk management framework and other duties to ensure effective risk and data handling.

About you

This role would suit a candidate in the early stages of developing a career in risk management and compliance. You will have some training and experience in general risk management and compliance frameworks and techniques. You will be familiar with information governance principles and have some experience or training in topics such as the General Data Protection Regulation and information security. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with project management principles and experience in planning and running projects. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and the interpersonal skills required to lead change within a multi-disciplinary business environment.

Location

This position can be based in Southampton or Liverpool. The Southampton site has good transport links, cycle parking and free onsite car-parking with EV charging points. The Liverpool centre is on a University campus, near the city centre and Lime Street station. The NOC uses a hybrid working approach; most positions allow remote work up to 2 days per week. For more flexible arrangements, please contact the recruitment team.
