The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity. We have two public sites in the Midlands and London and a stored collection at Stafford. Our purpose is to share the RAF story - past, present and future - using the stories of its people and our collections to engage, inform and inspire. Our vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story - the people who shape it and its place in our lives.

Our museum commitments are the golden thread that run through everything that we do. These are:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Sustainability

We are pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic Events Team. We are looking for an experienced event programmer and event professional to help deliver exciting and popular events at the London site. The public events programme is a key component of the RAF Museum’s public engagement and commercial strategies, and through the programme we tell the RAF story, engage with our visitors, widen our audience and help to support self-funded income. The Public Events Executive role is key to helping deliver the aims and objectives of the Museum.

The main responsibilities of the role include supporting the Public Events Manager in designing, planning and delivering events for our family audiences, supporting both a regular programme of daytime events as well as creating new events where required. Events currently within the programme include themed weeks – including STEM Week, Jet & Space Week, the summer holidays programme, Sleepover Event, Elf Cadets and the Barnet Food Festival.

The ideal candidate should be an experienced event professional with a lot of initiative who can help create and operate events that are exciting, compelling, safe and competitive. You should have the capacity to build positive relationships with both internal teams and external partners and demonstrate excellent organisational skills.

The post holder will be required to work school holidays, some weekends, early starts, evenings and on occasion overnight.
