Job Summary

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineer, you will carry out all mechanical elements of maintaining the pit. This includes maintaining surface and underground systems, buildings and structures, the pit shaft, and all associated machinery and equipment. You will also maintain and check all mechanical equipment, artefacts, and displays in the museum and carry out statutory inspections in accordance with the Operators' Plan for the Mine. You will maintain and check all equipment and buildings following all procedures, working methods, statutes, the Manager's Rules, and codes of conduct. You will also act as a pit inspector and winch inspector and perform mechanical work on any equipment, buildings, or functions as needed. You will deputise for the Mechanical Engineer when absent. Additionally, you may operate as an underground guide.
