The predicted salary is between 47698 - 50430 £ per year.

You will take overall responsibility for organising all mechanical work and scheduling mechanical maintenance both on the surface and underground.

The post requires compliance with the following external standards, statutes and regulations:

  • Health and safety at work act 1974
  • Compliance with COSHH, PUWER, RIDDOR, etc.
  • The Mines Regulations 2014
  • Bow Tie Risk Assessments
  • Understanding and knowledge of SMIM and recent changes in shaft and winding safety
  • Building management systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and improve mechanical systems, machinery and devices.
  • Evaluate performance, safety and reliability of machinery and components.
  • Identify mechanical failures, perform root cause analysis and implement repairs or preventative maintenance programs to ensure continuous operation.
  • Develop project specifications, manage timelines, budgets and resources and co-ordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including craftsmen, suppliers and other engineers.
  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety and reliability.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation and presentations for management, clients or regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems comply with safety standards, regulations and industry best practice.
  • Improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and optimise mechanical designs.
  • Monitor and commission plant and systems.
  • Manage people, projects and resources.
