We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to undertake a variety of general maintenance repairs and tasks at our National Museum of History at St Fagans. We are seeking someone who wants to be part of a committed team that looks after some of Wales premier heritage building assets.

We are seeking someone who would be focused on helping to keep our facilities in as good condition as possible, to present a safe and pleasant experience for our Visitors and Staff. Based mainly at the St Fagans site (and with the potential for travel to some of our other sites as and when necessary), this role will keep key building structures available for use, carrying out all manner of maintenance tasks from ensuring roof drainage systems are functioning properly to reacting to clearing drains and everything in between.

Main Purpose of the Job

  • Ensuring, wherever possible, that Museum services, plant and equipment are kept in good working order.
  • The maintenance and upkeep of the fabric of the Museums' buildings.
  • Undertaking minor and routine maintenance tasks.
