Hours: 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday

On-Call: 1:5

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Haematology to join our team in the West Midlands. This role is a fixed-term contract starting from 17th June 2024 to 20th December 2024, with a view to extend. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 with an on-call commitment of 1:5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct 4 clinics per week.
  • Allocate 1 session for administrative duties.
  • Perform 1 lab session per week.
  • Participate in 1 session for ward and cancer MDT sessions.
  • Conduct 1 ward session per week.
  • Dedicate 2 sessions for prescribing, admin, and daytime on-call duties.
  • Every fourth week, cancel clinics to focus on ward and inpatient duties.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • CCT in Haematology or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in Haematology at the consultant level.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
