A Specialist Children’s Hospital in Scotland is looking to replace the current locum with a candidate on the Specialist register. CCST/CCT in Paediatrics (Paediatric Neurology) will be ideal, but doctors with Paediatric CCT will be accepted too. This is a unique chance to shape paediatric neurology services while working in a supportive, cutting-edge environment. This is an ongoing, full-time locum assignment, Mon–Fri, start asap.

Candidate will be required to participate in General Paediatric On call rota, 1:5 OOH telephone oncall for North of Scotland Child and Adolescent Neurology Network / NeSCANN 50% on-call rate between 00: – reverts to 100% if “called-in”.

Paediatric Neurology Services including:

  • Conditions Treated:
  • Epilepsy & seizures
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Neuromuscular disorders (e.g., muscular dystrophy)
  • Neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy)
  • Genetic & metabolic neurological disorders
  • Brain injury & neurorehabilitation

Clinics & Services:

  • General paediatric neurology clinics
  • Specialist epilepsy clinics
  • Neuromuscular clinics (in collaboration with national services)
  • EEG (electroencephalogram) testing
  • Access to MRI/CT scans (on-site at Foresterhill)

Referrals:

  • Usually via GP or other paediatric specialists
  • Urgent cases may be admitted through A&E (if needed)

Team:

  • Consultant paediatric neurologists
  • Specialist nurses (e.g., epilepsy nurses)
  • Allied health professionals (physiotherapists, occupational therapists)
