NHS Grampian is delighted to invite applications for a Consultant in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology to join the dynamic team at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) — a modern, tertiary-level facility delivering high-quality care to children across the North of Scotland.

We are seeking a compassionate and forward-thinking paediatrician with expertise in paediatric haematology/oncology, who will contribute to the delivery of excellent clinical care while supporting service development, education, and innovation.

About the Role: You will be part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team that includes consultants across all paediatric subspecialties, specialist nurses, allied health professionals, and tertiary service links. RACH is co-located with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the University of Aberdeen Medical School, offering excellent opportunities for academic collaboration and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consultant-level care in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology
  • Participate in the acute paediatric on-call rota
  • Support education and training of junior doctors and medical students
  • Contribute to quality improvement and service development projects

Essential Criteria:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Entry on the Specialist Register for Paediatrics (or within 6 months of anticipated CCT at time of interview)
  • Subspecialty expertise in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology
  • Proven expertise in paediatric care, with strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in research, audit, or medical education
  • Experience in clinical leadership or service development
